We've Moved!

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are not able to blog for about one week. We're moving today and won't have internet access at our new home until the new phone line is set up.

Sneak Preview or what you can look forward to when we return to our blogging: new pics of our house, our hot tub, and our trip which we're taking August 16-17.

Yours trulies.

On Friday afternoon, we decided we'd rather sleep outside in this beautious part of the world. So 1/2 hour later, thanks to Garff's toughness, we were here. Which is where we slept, of course, and then Saturday morning we drove over the mountain and into Park City.

Everyone knows what comes after this, right? Hard, lumpy ground, spooky sounds, and scooching back up to your original spot on the half hour.

Fudge and yours trulies: two commonalities between Michigan and Utah.

There was a mustang show in Park City. Lotsa mustangs...and "car people" if you know what I mean...

Good thing Joel recently bought super glue for his sandals, because now he has some handy for these glasses (which he found on the ground a few weeks ago). I'm sure my dear husband sees the glass as half full.

Joel, master of the sphere of fire!!! (it's really just those little light wands, not fire)

This means war. She put that silly picture of me on the blog when I was working....So, take that. And I'll put a cool one of me on there, too...

A picture is worth a thousand words. (Thankfully, because I don't know what to say other than tonight's concert wasn't as interesting as Joel was!)

Another one of Crystal's (our landlady's) uninvited guests. Shontel gets pretty excited about these and has perfected her killing technique (although I still doubt the effectiveness of the screaming).

We decided to stretch Garff's wheels this weekend with a little trip to the Bear Lake Raspberry Festival. It seems like we missed most of the festivities so our off roading and sweet jumps were the most exciting part of the weekend (although Shontel's oatmeal cookies were a close second).

There was lots to do...like sitting around and watching corn pop.

Aahhh, the raspberry festival...raspberry shakes, corny crafts, carnival games, building partial toy fences around your family, and other odd behavior.

In the words of Elizabeth Barrett Browning:
Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush aflame with God.
But only he who sees takes off his shoes.
The rest sit 'round and pluck blackberries.

We finally got to do "what would be the easiest trail in the Wasatch Range if it weren't at 9,000 feet" today. The snow was replaced by wildflowers and it was beautiful. Yes, it was technically mountain biking, but I assure you we were quite safe.

Mooses! Four of them (one's over to the left). If it weren't for Shontel's keen eyes, I probably would have T-boned one of these on the trail.

This is a picture of a very frightened moose (we were both flexing).

For those of you who still think we have an "environment-loving hog", we now confess that is untrue. The real truth is that as of today, we now have this gas-sucking white mobile that should be able to get us up those mountains better. So, our fleet consists of faithful Red and this Isuzu Rodeo.

Here's tonight's view from our backyard looking over the city. See why we're disappointed we have to leave?

That tree on the bottom left is our neighbor's apricot tree. It seems we like their apricots better than they do. The ones on the ground we assume are theirs...ours on the tree are difficult to pick in the dark, but still tasty.

Joel hard at work, doing a little moonlighting to support our habit of having a summer home in the exotic location of Detroit.
