He does open his eyes to eat about every 3 hours. But otherwise, he is such a slug.

Try again

Nathan has a new buddy to watch Curious George with in the morning.

Probably the 20th picture I took to get a good one.
Finally....a good one.

Daniel: I like baby Peter.
Dad: What do you like about him?
Daniel: Hmmm...I like his tail.

Teaching the boys about pushups.

Sleepy

So far, Peter has been a pretty sleepy baby. He has also gone on his first road trip and had his first bath. Pretty good for not being 2 weeks old yet.

Sleepy baby with sleepy momma.

Still Happy

Boy#1 and Boy #2 seem to be adjusting just fine to having Boy#3. Boys #1 & #2 really like all the extra food that seems to come with a baby. Thanks for the truck load, Uncle Jon and Aunt Kristin!

Three Days Old

We had Peter's newborn pictures taken when he was 3 days old because I didn't want to wait 2 weeks and have him weigh 12 lbs or something!

Today's conversation of the day was:
Me: "Please don't lick Peter's head."
Nathan: "I was cleaning it."
Me: Nothing. What can I say to argue with that?!

The boys had their first day of school today. Nathan came home and told Shontel "My name is 'Nate' not 'Nathan'". Turns out he was wrong. We checked his birth certificate. His name actually is Nathan.

We left the hospital as a happy family of 5. Sounds like a Chinese dish.
He's so cute.
Papa V and Grandma V came to visit the new baby (oh, and help with the older rascals whilst Joel was on call).

The old double barrel

We didn't just get a new baby. We also got a middle child! Today he said "Can I bite Peter's head with this dinosaur?" To which Shontel replied "You mean MAY I bite Peter's head with this dinosaur?"

Welcome to the family Peter Mark!!!

All 9 pounds 4 ounces of him! He arrived at 1:13 in the morning on September 8.

Shontel feeling greatly relieved.

Some very interested and gentle older brothers.

Gramps and Gram came down to take care of Nathan and Daniel for us. Their reward was getting to hold a less than one day old baby--a rare experience.

Finally, the investment of reading to Nathan is paying off!

A quick visit to the art museum
T: - 1 week.
At this point, we had reached an equilibrium where the apple peel was consumed at the same rate that it was created. It was beautiful.
The boys took Gram to go feed the ducks in B-Rips (Broad Ripple, you know...). She'd been asking to go all day....
Cheering on the Indians with Taylor, Wendy, and Noah toward their final home win! We're huge fans. Huge.

All ready for the (pretty impressive) fireworks display at the end of the game.
