Look at me!

Christmas pictures will be posted soon....but in the meantime, here is the new skill that Nathan thinks is just hilarious--walking.

What is That?!

ok, I couldn't resist. Here is Nathan checking out the big guy in red.

I don't get it.

These two peas in a pod love snow.
Watch out, Santa!

The nursery staff told me that out of all the swings, this is the only swing that could move with Nathan in it. I'm sure that was an entertaining experiment for them.

"HI" from the E.R.

....but he doesn't look too sick, huh? He was having trouble breathing because of croup. As soon as we got there he started chillin' out and smiling at the staff. I guess he just needed to get out of the house--in the middle of the night.

Boo!

Nathan and I just got back from a week in MI visiting the fam. Uncle Jon was pretty fun to play with because he happened to know the game peek-a-boo.

Weekend in Chicago

Possibly this year's youngest attendee at the Radiological Society of North America conference.
Since we got kicked out of the conference early, we decided to go to the zoo. It turns out that Nathan could care less about primates, reptiles, birds, and everything else at that freezing zoo.
We stayed with our friends, Brian and Heather and their little cutie, Aidan.

Happy Thanksgiving

We stayed home this year and ate the bird with some other residents...."Uncle" Stan, Taylor, and Stacy.

Pictures of the week

Just Hanging Out.

Alex and Nathan: Two Music Pups at Music Playhouse. Thanks Great Grandpa and Grandma V for a fun semester of music class.

Visiting Dad at work and walking along the canal.

A new trick: smiling with tongue.

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Nathan got croup this week so we are staying home in our pj's instead of going to the big birthday party. I know he doesn't look sick....you'll just have to trust me on this one.

Hayride

Over the weekend we cruised around in this wagon full of straw with other radiologists and those related to them. As you can see, Nathan was mesmerized by the tractor.

Happy Halloween

The little green monster was quite a hit while meeting the neighbors tonight.
Nathan's meanest monster look of the night.

Auntie Rene

Nathan's favorite neighbor.
The two scariest things in the world: bees and monsters.

Stick me in Stickney

We thought it'd be cool to get a picture out in the field with guns. No, we actually went pheasant hunting...all the way out in South Dakota where the pheasants are extremely tasty.
It turns out that South Dakota will give absolutely ANYONE a hunting license. Sweet! You're telling me I can just shoot stuff, now?!
Well, my merit badge (not kidding) in marksmanship paid off when the bird on the left got just a little too close to the Bearded Wonder's gun! This is my HOUSE!
I missed a little of the chilling out at the lake house (see the lake and mountains in the background) since I had to be all cool and make a big entrance by flying in. Don't worry, I made up for lost beer drinking time later in the week.
Hare's another picture! The bird on the far right is mine, Mom.
You know how they say that small people can't tell stories? No? Well, it's not true even if they do say that. Marv here is proof. He's about three feet tall and weighs 75 pounds (he's Dutch! believe it or not) and can tell a mean story (by "mean", I mean "good"). We hunted on Marv's land for the week and his dog helped me shoot my bird.

Cousins

Ruba dub dub super fun in the tub.
HOW do you guys DO that!?

One Little Monkey Jumping on the Bed

Today when Nathan was supposed to take a nap, Joel offered to lay him down. When I heard a lot of laughing upstairs I went up and found Joel teaching Nathan a few new tricks.

I'M STILL NOT TIRED!!

People have questioned me as to whether turning 30 was a big deal or not. Of course! That is, unless you don't think my new facial hair is a big deal.

My hero of facial hair. This blast from the past is a reminder to you all of just how cool he really is. I can only aspire to this type of excellence.

Baking with Gram. Something chocolate, of course.

Happy Birthday!

One of us is now 30. We celebrated the big day in Chicago over the weekend.

6 Month Pictures (when Nathan is almost 7 months)

Well, at least it is only 1 month late....unlike his birth announcement that is now almost 7 months late. I hope no one is now dead because they were holding their breath for that one.

Us. If you would like your picture taken in our back yard of weeds, please call.

Thrilled to be out of the weeds and by our small patch of flowers. Or maybe he thinks it is funny to look like he has colored antlers.

Guess who? Our cute blog hog.

Still smiling...though he didn't seem to like this little suit under the hot lights as much as he liked wearing his birthday suit. Not pictured today is Nathan in his birthday suit because there are just too many rolls in that one to be cute anymore.

Proof that Nathan doesn't always smile. If you would like more proof of that, just try to babysit him and experience his protests that I am not around. Just ask Sarah.

Last Day at the Beach

While Nathan and I were in Michigan last week, we took advantage of the great weather and went to the beach with Trisha and Mom.

Elise is busy shaping the minds of our future, so she couldn't join us in the important things....like going to the beach.
