Indiana squirrels are so ugly

After 3 days of unsuccessful trapping, I have my first catch!!! So here is a limited time offer: I'll sell this big guy for only 5 bucks. (I'm "working from home" now so you didn't think he would be free, did you? Dadgum, I'm turning this trapping hobby into a business!)

Joel, thinking that he is going to get this for dinner, has already emailed me a few recipes including: Possom Pot Pie, Possum Creole, and Possom Tartare. I try to eat healthy foods since I'm also feeding Nathan, so I looked up the nutritional value. Here's what I found:

Nutrition Facts
Serving size: Depends on the possum
Servings per container: Depends on the possum
Calories: Depends on the possum
Total fat: Depends on the possum
Sodium: Depends on the possum
Total carbohydrate: Depends on the possum

Standing

Nathan no longer thinks it is fun to lie around all day. He needs to sit up or stand up for life to be fun. (of course, jumping is a good option too)

Visitors

Leila and Nathan chillin' out on our comfy couch.

I think Joel took this picture because he is upset that I am stealing one of his hobbies.

Hobbies

It has been about one year now that we've lived in Indiana. And now that we're here, we need to adjust our hobbies. I (Shontel), have decided to move on and celebrate my new life with some exciting hobbies. Joel "moved on" long ago and has the hobbies of beekeeping and mowing the lawn. I, on the other hand, have taken up the hobbies of changing poopy diapers and trapping. Let me give you some background.

Some of you may not know it, but I really don't like squirrels. Earlier this spring, in an attempt to "shoo" away one squirrel, I tossed a rock at it and to my surprise, knocked it in the head. In order to keep this PG, let me just say that it was chasing its tail and for all I knew, it looked like it was going to croak. So you can imagine my surprise when a few weeks later I saw a ragged squirrel running around my yard with a sore on it's face.

All that said, you now see my more humane attempt to rid my life (and all of Indiana, really) of too many squirrels. Pictured here is my first invitation: a small loaf of bread with a pecan on top. The great part about this hobby is that there are so many squirrels in this state that I'll be busy for the remaining 3 years that I live here.

If anyone would like a pet squirrel, please contact me. Otherwise, no one really knows what their fate may be.

Bee Update: They're making honey. (see the white wax part?) They're also making babies. (see the yellow capped cells in the middle?) Baby bees are so cute! (not really)

What are you doing, lady?

Nathan didn't seem to like my attempts to give him a cushy ride with this pillow. He seems to prefer holding up his own head, thank you very much.
