Happy 10th Anniversary

We had a great day, if you must pry. We spent a million dollars to eat foie gras, a duck waffle, and a basil marshmallow.
Ten years earlier... (and ten years younger, dumber, cuter, thinner, faster, more energetic, freer, less wrinkly...)

Love Birds

My friend, Kristine, tied the knot with Paul on Monday. It was a beautiful day with a beautiful bride!

The fam overlooking the Great Falls of the Potomac. The kids didn't look this grumpy the whole time.

Hold it.

Nathan: "Nathan go pee?"
Daddy: "No, you just hold it."
"Daddy, I'm ready to watch the 3-D deep sea movie with all the colorful fish and reefs narrated by Johnny Depp and Kate Winslett with the expected save-the-planet rallying cry moments."

"Nathan, it's 'fishes and reeves,' honey."

"And have you seen her tail....it is soooo big."
"Anyone could have a tail like that if they got THAT much work done on it...."

Mt. Vernon

Honey, what is Nathan doing on George Washington's bowling green?
Fight it....fight it....fight...... can't........hold..........on.............much.........

We are in BIG trouble.
The momentous tongue discovery.

Bisbee

Nathan working on his powerful and randomly directed backhand. Alligator catch not shown.
We told Nathan we'd get him a super suit like this if he misbehaved.

Visit from Gram

Last week we hung out with Gram and did a lot more touristy stuff, like ride this free trolley in Annapolis. Nathan looks like he's having fun. However, he was not dissuaded from his desire to ride a backhoe. We're thinking we'll have to go act like we're in the market for a backhoe at some backhoe dealers.

Life just got a bit more interesting for Daniel.

Twins

It is still raining and I'm a bit tired of museums so today we went to a special place they have here in DC: McDonald's. It turns out that Nathan really likes McDonald's because they have "meat sandwiches" and also apple pie. We made some friends, watched people, each boy was given a dollar, and I got a few comments about them being twins. "Yes, they are....just like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito! One has a pituitary problem and the other is malnourished and developmentally delayed."

Grandpa and Grandma V

Last week we got to hang out with Joel's parents who helped me out a bunch while Joel was at work.
The WWII Memorial

We took this picture between raindrops as we ran from the botanical gardens to the art museum.

Nathan thinks this is a football field and can't understand why he never sees a game going on when we're in the area.

Getting spoiled by Papa V

When you have kids, if you don't know what time it is there is always one guess that is usually correct: time to eat---again.
