We're on vacation!!

Today we leave for a biking trip around Napa Valley. (And yes, we will be wearing helmets while we drink and bike.) We'll blog a few pics when we get back March 31.
Have a great week!

See, I told you that I have a real knack for catching Joel at his best in athleticism. (Actually, his best jump I didn't catch but this one was great too)

Being on call at night has the benefit of getting out early the next day. :)
A view from the "Road to Provo" run at the 'bird. 'Twas a beautiful day: wind in your hair, thighs burning, powder in your face, beautiful.

This weekend I visited my friend, Kristine, in Denver. We snowshoed around Rocky Mountain National Park on Saturday.
We also went to the broadway show, Mamma Mia, and then tried to consume this monster.
Fitting all of my weekend into one bag proved to be a challenge on the way home.

Tonight there was a full moon so we thought we'd give night cross-country skiing a try. Besides it being dark and icy, it was really fun.
A picture of Monday's powder day. (On the back side of Mineral Basin looking longingly out of bounds....but we showed restraint.)

I have a real knack for catching Joel at his best in athleticism. Another bonus is that he works a lot and leaves me home alone to blog.
Bet you can't guess what we're doing.

Today, it was snowing kinda hard while we were skiing. S'posta get a bunch more tonight. Good thing I'm on call tomorrow so I won't be tempted.
My (Joel's) parents were out here for a week. We did lots of stuff--beyond the scope of this blog. Here's a picture of my dad ripping it up at the 'Bird.
And here we are at the top of the tram. Looks like I've had a few too many Banbury Cross apple fritters.
The next day we gave our legs a break and exercized our chewers up in Mill Creek Canyon.

Here's the beginning of our first annual king of the mountain competition. Actually, we're at Bob Redford's Sundance resort on a little hike.
One needs lotsa energy out here. Nothing does the trick quite like a Banbury Cross cinnamon roll.

Joel's parents are visiting this week so we did what every kind person does to their guests: make them swim in a hole in the ground. "The Crater" is a natural hotspring inside of this mound.
The crater is about 65-70 feet deep and about 92 degrees at the surface. This is one of the oddest things we've done out here in Utah. And some of the oddest swimming apparel we've worn too.
The water was super clear and steaming. Mom is being a very good sport about this craziness since she hates caves and bats. (just kidding, there weren't any bats...just scuba divers blowing up bubbles from the bottom).
On the upside, the water was a very pretty blue.
