Spring is finally here and we've been out biking a lot. Nathan thinks it is great fun to watch the world go by while eating his snacks and patting his ball. On this particular day he leaned forward and used his ball as a pillow (he then promptly fell off his pillow and just rested on his nose I guess).

Giddyap!

Happy (belated) Easter!

Workin'

Nathan loves dirt and even enjoyed eating it on this particular day that we were "helping" Gram plant her pots.

Woof, Woof

At random times, Nathan also likes to bark like a dog. This is one of those random times.

Okay, so here are the promised Utah pictures. The week proved to be a bit stressful on Nathan. We think he had a good time in the end, but it was a lot to take in for a little dude.

Chillin' in the (tiny) hotel room. Visiting the Mormon temple square. Playing BALL!!! And checking out City Creek Canyon.
Nathan's first (but not only) experience at the Red Iguana. He seemed to enjoy it--unsurprising given his enjoyment of cake. Doesn't he look older here?
Are you excited, Nathan?! He had a great time splashing in the water on his birthday!
We showshoed up Mill Creek Canyon (here) and in Little Cottonwood Canyon the next day. It was a little chilly so we mummified Nathan (skipping the drying and preservation part).
Nathan thought this was just hillarious. Mo'! (That's "more").
Nathan insisted on hiking half of the way down Neff's Canyon. It was really cute...he just didn't want to stop.
That about sums it up. Oh, and I learned a fair amount about neuroradiology, but there aren't any good pictures of that. Okay, fine, I'll give you one picture:

Bilateral masses at the foramen of Monroe in a patient with seizures, adenoma sebaceum and developmental delay. Any guesses? Correct! Tuberous Sclerosis. Very good! There's your neuroradiology for the day.

Happy Birthday, Joel!

Well, we haven't blogged for awhile because we've been non-stop partying because Joel turned 30 big ones the end of February. (ok, the part about non-stop partying isn't actually true, but it sure sounds fun!). Although we didn't capture all of the fun on camera, here's a few of the highlights from Joel's b-day celebration weekend.....

Joel's Paintball Party

We were the meanest group of paintball-ers ever. (except for the wackos that play every weekend, have machine guns, and wear camo garb.....they actually scared all of us in spite of our meanness.)

Out for Dinner

We ate at a fancy place with Joel's family where this chef guy threw food at us. Joel proved to be very talented in catching the food in his mouth (and not because we practice this at home..... although Nathan does like to throw food, so maybe we should start a new hobby.)
Joel shares his birthday month with a lot of my family members so at my parent's house we celebrated with 7 cakes.
A little cross country skiing in the afternoon worked up our appetites for those 7 cakes.

Nathan turned 1!

We celebrated Nathan's b-day a bit early with the fam. Here's Nathan's ball cake at Grandpa and Grandma V's house.
He wouldn't eat vegetables for days after this royal treatment. The boy knows how to eat!
More cake with his cousin, Addison, who is 2 days older.
I know, this is a lot of cake pictures. I think it was Nathan's favorite part of turning 1 so there's never too much cake according to him.

Sneak Preview

We just got back from a week in Utah. More pics to follow soon.....

and one more thing

Nathan's first haircut in Utah. (or anywhere to be exact).
