Nathan in the Mulch Mobile

Nathan is now eating solid foods. Apparently he needed more fiber.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

This past week we celebrated my mom's b-day in Indianapolis. I'm telling you, this is a great place to party!!

Today at Turkey Run State Park

You know it is time (or past time?) to pray for rain when you can walk up river beds....or when you drive and see only yellow curled corn, or when we called the u-pick peach orchards and they said that there just aren't any peaches that grew around here this year, or when my tap water tastes like they mixed it with dirt to make it go farther....(forget that last one. It always tastes like dirt. Joel, don't be mad I said that. I really do like trapping in Indiana)

Shoulda named him "Jack"

The Indiana State Fair

takes place only 5 minutes from our house. Nathan shows promising signs of becoming a die hard carny.

Let's be honest. I think we could all do a better job of this.

More Training

Today Nathan enjoyed a baby nonfat cinnamon dulce latte with whip. (I'm not sure why he ordered nonfat.....)

In Training

Nathan is in training now for going backpacking this fall. This training process has revealed two reasons that Joel should be the one to lug him around when we go: #1. I would be bald by the end of the trip #2. My fingers are numb after just 10 minutes....maybe I'm the one who needs to go into training.

Nicole came for a visit this weekend. As you can see, Nathan seemed to enjoy her company.

Doing laundry has proved to be a lot more exciting with my little helper.

Hanging out with the girls

Joel has been working a lot so Nathan and I are finding some fun ways to entertain ourselves. Brooklyn and Kendall were very entertaining to Nathan who is used to our quiet house. It was definitely NOT quiet....but lots of fun.

No, I am not a girl

When Nathan and I were reading books at Borders, people were asking me how old my girl was. Thanks, David and Janet! :) Or maybe I accidently put him in Jamie's clothes?!

Buddies

We hung out at a local pool with Nathan's new friend, Alex. Even though Nathan is about 2 weeks younger than Alex, he is considerably bigger so we had to make sure Nathan didn't roll on him and squish him.

At the Movies

Nathan loved Harry Potter and Hairspray....though he didn't seem to enjoy cotton balls in his ears. And the other people in the theater didn't seem to enjoy the fact that Nathan is a loud person.
